Hints and tips on applying

Here are a few tips and reminders to ensure you get the most from your application form:

Do

  • be honest
  • tailor your CV and covering letter to the role you are applying for
  • review the vacancy notice to see what is required and tailor your application accordingly
  • allow yourself plenty of time to complete the form
  • explain gaps in your employment history, such as time out travelling
  • tell us about any major achievements or successes you have had
  • ensure you’ve completed all the necessary sections before you submit your application
  • spell check your document
  • check your contact details are correct and up to date
  • be truthful about your driving license; we’ll need to see both parts in your assessment and will contact the DVLA for a licence check before you start work for us

Don’t 

  • rush your application; it’s the first impression we’ll have of you
  • lie on your application form; our interview process is thorough
  • exaggerate; we will ask to see your exam certificates.
