Before you apply, we recommend you read through all the information on the web site and take a look at the Are You What We're Looking For? section. Once you have read this, and provided you meet our minimum criteria, you can then apply online or if you prefer, download the application form and post it to us.
Once you have applied to Imperial Tobacco your application will go through a number of stages.
As soon as you submit your application online you will receive an automated email message confirming successful submission of your application, if you don't receive this automated message we recommend checking your email junk folder. Your application form/CV will be reviewed thoroughly by the HR team and assessed against the essential criteria for this role. Therefore it is important that you present yourself as best as you can, to help you we have put together some Top Tips When Applying.
If you are selected we'll contact you to arrange a telephone interview. We are keen to learn more about things that you have done in the past and we will therefore be asking you for specific examples from your past experiences. The telephone interview can last for up to 40 minutes and we'll try to schedule this at a time convenient to you. Within 7 days of your telephone interview we'll advise you whether your application will proceed to the next stage, an assessment centre.
The assessment centre provides an opportunity for us to get to know you better and for you to learn more about us. At the assessment centre you will be asked to take part in various assessment exercises including a scenario-based role play. It may sound daunting and we understand that you may well be feeling nervous, which is natural. The role play has been carefully designed to allow us to assess your capability to perform in this role. You'll also get the chance to talk to the Area Sales Manager who you would work for as well as meet other members of the Imperial team including a current Field Sales Representative. You should allow a full day for this stage and keep hold of any receipts (parking / train tickets) incase you need us to reimburse your travel expenses.
If you are successful at this stage you will be offered employment and will be issued with an offer letter. If you are unsuccessful we will be happy to provide you with feedback which we hope will prepare you for other interviews you may have in the future.
